Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Keen was Senior Counsel for Mobil Oil
Corporation and Counsel for Exxon Mobil Corporation following the
merger between Mobil and Exxon.
Mr. Keen has more than forty years of intellectual property law experience. Prior to joining Mobil
Oil Corporation, he qualified as a Chartered Patent Agent in the United Kingdom, with technical
experience in polymerization processes, plastic resins, plastic films, explosives, papermaking
and chemical products. With Mobil and later with Exxon, he has worked on oilfield exploration
and production technologies, petroleum refining and petrochemical catalysts and processes
(with particular emphasis on catalytic hydroprocessing), plastic resins, polymerization catalysts
and processes, as well as petroleum additives, additive synthesis and lubrication and fuel
products. His experience includes patent procurement, infringement and validity opinions; he
also has extensive experience in technology transfer, with a number of successful licensing
arrangements with organizations in the Far East.
