Stuart J. Friedman specializes in patent, trademark, trade dress and trade secret law. His practice includes patent, trademark and unfair competition litigation, at the trial and appellate levels, in the federal courts and before federal administrative agencies. He has conducted jury and non-jury patent infringement litigations, has prepared and argued patent and trademark appeals before U.S. Courts of Appeal, has testified as a patent expert in patent infringement litigations and has extensive experience in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Mr. Friedman's practice includes patent and trademark validity and infringement counseling. He is experienced in formulating, negotiating and implementing intellectual property licensing and technology transfer programs, technology acquisitions and joint ventures. His experience includes all phases of patent application preparation and prosecution. In addition, he counsels clients regarding the selection, adoption, use and worldwide acquisition of trade and service mark rights.

Mr. Friedman's has been a Partner at Nixon Peabody LLP, in Washington, DC; and a Partner at Sixbey, Friedman, Leedom & Ferguson, P.C., in McLean, VA.

Mr. Friedman received his B.Ch.E. from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, NY in 1961; his M.S.Ch.E. from Rensselaer Polytechnic in 1963; and his J.D. from New York University Law School in 1969.
